For 35 years, the Wicomico Environmental Trust has been a pillar of environmental education, advocacy, and action on the Lower Eastern Shore. As WET celebrates this milestone of stewardship for our waterways, land, and communities, WET invites you to be an essential part of the 35th Anniversary celebration.
The evening kicks off with a delicious catered buffet-style meal and a silent auction featuring exclusive items, with bids open only to attendees.
WET will present awards to outstanding businesses, volunteers, and students in recognition of their contributions to a more sustainable, environmentally equitable, and accessible Lower Shore environment. The event will also feature Keynote Speaker, guest speakers, and more!

Keynote Speaker, Dr. Judith Stribling
Judith Stribling is a Professor Emerita of Biological Sciences at Salisbury University. Her teaching focused on ecology and wetland science, and she served for many years as coordinator of the collaborative Dual Degree Program in Biology and Environmental-Marine Science with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Her research has centered on wetlands: their ecology, biogeochemistry, restoration, and management. Her leadership and expertise have been invaluable to such organizations as the Lower Shore Land Trust, Friends of the Nanticoke River, and the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance. She currently chairs the Wicomico County Natural Resources Conservation Advisory Committee. As one local scientist remarked: “In the last 45 years, Judith Stribling has been involved in virtually every area of ecology and environmental science for the entire Eastern Shore and beyond.”

Governor Wes Moore will address our audience via video as part of WET’s Annual Banquet. His message will help us celebrate WET’s 35 years of service, honoring our history while looking ahead to the future of environmental resilience and sustainability. We are honored to have his participation in this milestone event and look forward to sharing this special moment with our community.
