On Saturday, May 31, WET and the Wicomico NAACP hosted a vibrant celebration marking the restoration of Waterside Park. It was a joyful day of connection and community pride.
Neighbors, volunteers, and friends came together to honor our five-year effort in revitalizing Waterside Park. Among the attendees were two of our dedicated Park Keepers, whose ongoing stewardship has been instrumental in maintaining the new plantings and shaping the park’s future.
The event drew local media attention from WMDT, WBOC, and the Salisbury Independent.
We’re deeply grateful to our partners at Wicomico NAACP and to our generous supporters: the Chesapeake Bay Trust, the City of Salisbury, and the Lower Shore Land Trust.
We were honored to welcome several community leaders, including City Councilmembers Michele Gregory and April Jackson, County Councilmember Shanie Shields, Mayor Randy Taylor, and Assistant City Administrator Tom Stevenson. Their presence made the day even more meaningful.
We’re already looking forward to more gatherings like this. Until then, we hope to see you at Waterside Park—playing, picnicking, and enjoying all it has to offer.
