Wicomico Invasive Fishing Tournament

Location: Riverside Drive Boat Ramp (MD-991, Salisbury, MD, 21801) Start time is 7a.m. Weigh in starts at 3p.m.

Note: Maryland's Department of Natural Resources requires that all anglers over 16 years of age must have a fishing permit.

Tournament Rules

1. Rod and reel only.


2. All boats and anglers from shore must fish within the boundaries of the Wicomico River and its tributaries.


3. A maximum of 4 anglers per team. All team members must be registered, with a designated team captain. Primary registration will be done online. Registration will close at 9 AM, April 20th. You may sign up in person, the day of at Riverside Drive Boat Ramp until 9 AM.


5. Children 16 and under will be automatically entered into the junior division and do not need to register.


6. Weigh in begins at 3 PM at Riverside Drive Boat Ramp. If you are not in the weigh in line by 3 PM, with your fish ready to be weighed, you will be disqualified.


7. Lines in at 7 AM. Anglers may launch and be at their spot whenever they please, but may not start fishing until 7 AM sharp. 


8. Fish must be dispatched and put on ice prior to weigh in. It is illegal to transport live invasive fish in Maryland. 


9. Base entry of $15 per adult angler age 17 & up. Free for 16 & under. Separate divisions for Snakehead and Blue Catfish, each scored by total weight. Anglers may weigh every fish they catch. The goal of this tournament is invasive species education and removal, every fish counts! Additionally, there will be a Biggest Fish Calcutta for blue catfish with a $50 winner-takes-all buy in. 


10. The Biggest Fish Calcutta is for individuals and is NOT a team based Calcutta.
