Volunteer With WET!

Would you like to be involved with WET's efforts to protect our environment?
Your help is needed! Please consider joining our Board and/or serving on a committee.
The Board meets bimonthly and the Committees meet in the alternate months.

COMMITTEES

Environmental Advocacy - Chair:  John Groutt - jwgroutt@hotmail.com

Formulates and present WET’s positions on environmental and growth issues at meetings of the Wicomico County Planning and Zoning Commission, the County Council and municipal governing bodies.  The committee also recommends to the Board of Directors WET’s position with respect to pending or proposed legislation or regulations affecting the environment, and for monitoring any pertinent litigation.  Green Infrastructure, water quality, conservation of natural resources.

Outreach - Chair:  Larry Points - larrypoints@msn.com

Focuses on WET’s public presence in the larger community, including participation in community events, public relations and other announcements, publishing the quarterly newsletter, and dealings with the local media.  Writing,  representing WET at local events, speaking!

Programs  - Chair:  Barry Johansson - barryjoh@comcast.net

Recommend, arranges and conducts periodic community meetings, forums, film series, and other topical events of interest to the general membership, and to the Wicomico community at large, on issues involving environment and growth.   Adopt-a-Highway, Spring Environmental Film Festival, outings, recycling.

Membership - Chair:  Cathy Beise - cat.beise@gmail.com

Initiates methods or efforts to enhance and better serve its general membership, and promotes membership in the community.  Maintains membership list.

Resources and Development - Chair:  Linda Hardman - lindaluna70@hotmail.com

Makes recommendations regarding annual dues, grant applications, or other sources of funding for WET, and responsible for fiscal affairs generally, including any major expenditures, subject to Board approval.  Fund-raising.
